My Dad was a Vauxhall dealer when DTV (Dealer Team Vauxhall) was set up to sponsor Gerry Marshall to race Viva's , Ventora's. Magnum's and Firenza's , we traveled to watch the races and I was hooked.
I raced in grass track , then Rage Buggies then graduated to track racing initially in a 1975 Jensen Healey then a 1965 Notchback Mustang, 1964 Shelby Cobra, 1965 Mustang GT350 Fastback and 1963 Austin Healey 3000, mainly in FIA Spec 90 minute mini endurance racing on Dunlop radial tyres (no grip), with many class wins and outright wins, mainly in the Cobra.
I have raced at all the principle UK tracks and many times at the Silverstone Festival as well as European meetings at Zandvoort, Nürburgring, Magny Cours and SPA , my favourite track many times.
I race a 1974 Mk1 Escort RS 2000 in 1970's touring car races including the Goodwood Members meeting.
I currently race a 1974 MGBGT V8 with the SMRC , it is a well balanced quick little car with more power than grip and I have scored outright wins racing alongside some good friends.
