Calendar Announcement 2027
The Scottish Motor Racing Club are pleased to present the 2027 racing schedule. The schedule will see SMRC action in all four of the United Kingdom’s Nations across the season.
Following the successful trial of a triple header meeting for the Scottish Fiesta ST Cup and Scottish C1 Cup, they will both be moving to a three race format for 2027, with the goal of offering better value for money for competitors. The Scottish Classic Sports & Saloon Championship will be contested over 7 race meetings instead of the usual 6 and will feature at some the UK’s leading Historic Racing Festivals, while continuing to share its grid with the Historic Modsports & Special Saloons at select events. The Scottish MINI Cooper Cup will benefit from a support race slot at the British Touring Car Championship race meeting at Knockhill in August together with playing a major role in the return of the Oulton Park Mini Festival in June.
At the October finals meeting, the Scottish Fiesta ST Cup and Scottish C1 Cup will also feature a night race in full darkness on the Saturday evening, a first for the Scottish Championships.
With championships tackling new circuits, visits to competitors favourites, new formats and a return to a high profile event, the 2027 season is shaping up to be a popular affair.
Scottish MINI Cooper Cup

The remarkable return to the BTCC support package in August, to end a 14 year hiatus for the Championship from the TOCA package, forms the headline event for 2027. A scaled back programme of away meetings, sees a return to tracks that have proven popular in recent appearances.
The season starts on the anti-clockwise orientation of the Knockhill circuit. Before a duo of away meetings follows at Anglesey and Oulton Park. Both circuits proved popular when they last featured on the Scottish MINI Cooper Cup schedule in 2024 and 2025 respectively. Anglesey sees the usual three race format retained, while Oulton will be a duo of races in a single day format as part of the Circuit’s Mini Festival event.
July sees the return North of the border to Knockhill for a pair of events in the familiar clockwise direction, with the second of these forming part of the TOCA support package for the British Touring Car Championship in August, before a return to the anti-clockwise format for the penultimate meeting, and the season finale on the traditional clockwise Knockhill layout.
Scottish C1 Cup

The Scottish C1 Cup will venture further afield than ever before in 2027, with the championship making an appearance in Northern Ireland. The new three race format for 2027 will certainly create a new test for drivers, with the trial event in 2026 producing one of the best race meetings of the season.
The Championship kicks off on the clockwise Knockhill format in April, before their first ever visit to Kirkistown in Northern Ireland, a circuit which should suit the C1 platform. This May meeting will be their sole away event of the 2027 season, with it being followed by a break in June.
A return to the familiar Knockhill clockwise layout in July precedes a swap in direction for the August and September anti-clockwise meetings. October sees the traditional season finale at Knockhill with the rest of the Scottish Championships, but with the added twist of a Saturday evening night race.
Scottish Fiesta ST Cup

A relatively unchanged calendar for the 2027 season will be some welcome consistency for the competitors in the Scottish Fiesta ST Cup. They will contest a schedule very similar to their fellow hot hatches in the Scottish C1 Cup. They will kick their season off at Knockhill in the anti-clockwise direction, before a visit to Kirkistown in Northern Ireland.
With June seeing no action for the Fiestas, they return for a pair of clockwise events in July and August, the latter of which sees the Fiesta’s featuring at the Circuit’s annual Ford Live event. A second anti-clockwise meeting takes place in September before the championship finale in the clockwise direction in October closes out the season, the penultimate race at the finals meeting taking place in full darkness on the Saturday evening, adding a new challenge for the drivers.
Scottish Classic Sports & Saloon Championship

Always a nostalgic fan favourite, the Scottish Classic Sports & Saloon Championship will again join forces with the Historic Modsports & Special Saloon Series to facilitate an expanded programme of events in 2027. The season will begin at Croft in early April in support of the Circuit’s new ‘Northern Classic’ event before a trio of Knockhil meetings, the second of which in June will host the annual visit to Knockhill of the Historic Modsports & Special Saloons.
The summer months of late July and August sees the Championship feature at two of the UK’s highest profile Classic & Historic race events, with visits to the Legends of Brands Hatch Superprix on the fabulous and rarely used 3.9km Grand Prix Circuit configuration, and the famous Oulton Park Gold Cup meeting.
The Classic’s will close their season out at Knockhill in October alongside the rest of the Scottish Championships.
