There were two race meetings run by the SMRC at Knockhill to bring the season to an end. These were the September 16th Reverse Direction meeting , and the October 7th Finale meeting. All the Championships were settled at these two meetings, with five going down to the wire in the October race meeting. The racing was good, close, exciting and It is congratulations to all the new Champions.
Well done to the four drivers who successfully defended their 2017 titles (Ross Martin in Formula Ford, William Robson in Saloons and Sportscars, Oliver Mortimer in the Mini Cooper S R53 Cup, and Alastair Baptie in Classics), they should all be at the clubs annual dinner and awards ceremony at the Sheraton Hotel, Edinburgh on 17th November, says Kevin Pick.

SMRC Web site and media usage report: In 2018 so far we have had 18,800 users compared to 15,900 in 2017, with 123,000 page views compared to 111,000 page views last year. The web site reach is 356,000 in 2018 compared to 91,000 last year. Facebook had 2089 likes in October were as in 2017 it had 1277 in the same month. We also had 21,000 views of U Tube SMRC races in October. Twitter had nearly 2,000 followers in October. All media shows an upwards trend for 2018.
2019 Championship Regulations – These should be available soon on the club website. There are a few small changes to individual sets of regs, and these are noted in each set of regs. Some highlights - Mini Cooper Cup registration fee is to be in line with all other championships. Hot Hatch class restructured, now on a power to weight basis. Points changes for all Championships, giving more points to classes were 2 or less drivers start a round.
John Cleland drove the SMRC Citroen C1 at the recent Kames SMS Road Car Series, which saw John take on the slalom course in good style.
2019 SMRC Calendar Dates yet to be confirmed, but there will be six SMRC meetings at Knockhill. First race meeting will be in April. There will also be some away rounds, These being for the Mini Cooper Cup and Legends Cars. Details to be confirmed.
