Race 1 - Defending champion Ross Martin started from pole and the teenager held off a race long challenge from 2 guests. Matt Round-Garrido pressed Martin for 9 laps, sitting on his gearbox virtually all the way, then ran wide exiting the hairpin on lap 10. In a flash Hugo Bentley-Ellis was past and into 2nd where he stayed to the flag, only half a second behind Martin. Round-Garrido was 3rd ahead of another guest Michael Eastwell, who was 5th on lap 1. Scottish regular young Seb Melrose had a cracking start going from 9th to 3rd on lap 1. He ran 3rd until lap 4 when he ran wide exiting the hairpin and was swallowed up by the pack, emerging 6th were he stayed behind Rory Smith, so guests had 4 of the top places. Jordan Gronkowski took 7th after starting 11th. He got to 7th on lap 4 but didn’t close the gap to Seb Melrose, which was nearly 3 seconds at the flag. Gary Sykes took 8th getting up from a 12th place start, and holding off Gronkowski as he ran 7th on lap 3 then he dropped back after Gronkowski passed him on lap 4.Ross Martin said, ‘ testing for the nationals, and Matt was doing a great job. Awesome racing and I got a gap, but what great race and sunshine at Knockhill’.

Hugo Bentley-Ellis commented ‘ I messed the start up a bit, but once we got going we are really quick. It’s my first time here, never been round the reverse way, and the track is pretty radical’.

Race 2

In the afternoon Ross Martin led race 2 for 3 laps, then guest Matt Round-Garrido got past him and eased a few car lengths clear. SMRC regular Seb Melrose finished 4th and 2nd championship runner behind another guest Hugo Bentley-Ellis. Seb had another cracking start going from 6th to 3rd on lap 1. He ran 3rd over the early laps before Bentley-Ellis dived past on lap 3. A lap later Round-Garrido took the lead and held it all the way. Ross Martin was under lots of pressure but held on as the race was called over after 9 laps due to a spinner being in the hairpin gravel, so red flags were out and the results taken back a lap. Melrose took 4th with gust Rory Smith 5th ahead of Michael Eastwell. In 7th Jordan Gronkowski was 3rd SMRC runner, a few seconds clear of James Clarke.
