This class and overall championship-winning, now 2 years running as well as Knockhill (upto 1500cc -class A) lap record holder by over 2 seconds (60.1s) on Yokohama 048 – (and driven by a novice) was built from a solid media blasted bare shell in early 2016 that started as a very nice standard road car.
No reasonable expense was spared which included seam welding and a comprehensive, integrated roll cage by Scott McMinn Motorsport
Other notable features which were also all brand new are:- twin 45 webers, CSC Full Race Exhaust (Zircotec coated) 50l foam fuel tank, Oversized Rad-Tec radiator in conjunction with a Mocal Laminova, OBP V2 pedal box, heated windscreen, heads-up digital display, LED lights, electric Accusump, Tillet Carbon Seat etc
There will be many parts if have missed so if you are genuinely interested please give me a call as its easier than answering emails
This X1/9 has dominated its class all season and reliable (for a Fiat !!!) until it had secured the title.
Car cost as per usual a lot more in both time and parts than what I’m asking so please no offers. I don’t want a swap for anything as i already have another project on the go. If it sells it sells and if not I’ll happily keep it and venture down south.
Sizeable spares package available by separate negotiation to include 2nd complete engine (140hp/ twin 40’s and includes manifold, alternator etc) another fresh Bacci Romani Dog-Box (4:8) with LSD, drive-shafts, etc which were thought necessary but unused as car behaved all season long! (£10,000 worth)
A great car that is easy and comfortable (will accommodate a 6’3″ driver) to drive and which both handles and stops nothing like any regular Fiat X1/9 !! ….it could easily cope with double the horsepower!!
I would also be prepared to help any new driver if they wanted to race it in the SMRC Classics Championship. I have full list of all set-up information and timing results sheets from every time the car has been driven.
Videos of the car in action can be viewed on the “Scottish Classic Sports and Saloons” ‘SMRC TV’ page / YouTube channel and i have in-car video footage also.
It’s been very cheap car to run (full season out of ONE set of tyres but NOT cheap to buy – good cars NEVER are!
